Sometimes I just don't know when to quit. I created this card for a swap that I participated in and think I over did it. I had to make 21 of these and with all the layers it took a LONG time!
That said I am so pleased at how the card turned out. I hope my swap-mates like my design/creation.
Here is what I did.
- I started with Early Espresso card as the base and layered Soft Suede.
- I stamped the ferns (Peaceful Boughs - pg 15 of the holiday catalog) on Vanilla card first and sponged the edges of the Vanilla card with Soft Suede ink and a sponge.
- Then I die cut 3 of the branches from the Beautiful Boughs dies (page 15 of the holiday catalog).
- I added some Snow Accent Puff Paint (pg 19 of the holiday catalog) and heat set to create the "snow" on the branches and I adhered them to the Vanilla card.
- Next I die cut 2 pine cone "bases" from Early Espresso card and 2 pine cone "layers" (both dies from the Beautiful Boughs dies). Before adhering the top layer of the pine cone to the bottom layer, I ran clear Wink of Stella over the tops to make them sparkle.
- I die cut 2 copper holly branches (from the Christmas Layers dies - pg 16 of the holiday catalog) and adhered 1 to each of the pine cones.
- The sentiment is actually ribbon - Classic Weave Ribbon (page 31 of the holiday catalog) that I "flagged" at one end and adhered under the pine cones.
If you don't have a copy of the holiday catalog and live in the Ottawa and surrounding area, then let me know and I will arrange to get one to you.
I hope that you enjoy my card.
