Hello crafters! Welcome to For The Love of Stamping, Canada. Thanks for popping by! Today I am sharing with you my card for The Spot Creative Challenge. A couple of weeks ago I invented a brand new fun fold card that I have called a "Platform Fold". It uses an 11" x 4-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock, scored at 2-1/2" & 8". The bottom section is folded back to create the platform that holds the card up.
I have been playing with this fun fold a lot and have created this blue and white Christmas Wreath card. I love blue and white Christmas cards! So pretty and elegant!
So here is what I have done to make this card.
As you can see the top layer of the card is smaller than the bottom layer. I have adhered a Navy scallop trimmed border along the bottom edge (using the Be Mine Stitched dies). The top flips up to provide you with all kinds of space to write your special Christmas message.
The top layer of the card has been decorated using the Wreath Builder dies from Stampin' Up! I have fallen in love with these dies and can't stop using them. There are 2 different wreaths in this set, which I have used both. The bottom wreath has been die cut in Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper and the top wreath in Silver Foil. I adhered 3 Beaded Pearls to the wreath along with a couple of tiny flowers with a Blue Adhesive Backed Gem in the center of each. I tied a small bow using Pool Party Shimmer ribbon (colored over with Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends) and adhered it with a glue dot. To finish off the card I embossed the greeting with white embossing powder and fussy cut around the sentiment.
I hope you give this new Platform fold card a try!
So excited! My card was chosen as The Spot Challenge #127 as the winner!!
