Crafty Challenge Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to For The Love of Stamping and this months Crafty Challenge Blog Hop! Our challenge this month is a card sketch.

The blog hoppers have been challenged to use this sketch as the basis for our creations.

Theses challenges are fun because they make me think outside the box. It's not so much the shapes we need to use but the layout for our creations.

So many things come to mind but what is really on my mind these days is prepping or my annual Christmas Card Club. My club is starting in a few weeks!!! PANIC has set in! LOL  Sometimes it is really hard to juggle a full time job and a small business at the same time!  But I do manage to squeeze in a bit of time to enjoy my craft!.

So what have I come up with for this challenge? I designed this classic white and silver card using the 3D Wintry Embossing folder, the Rectangular Postage Stamp punch, Wonderful Snowflakes, Be Dazzling paper, Word Wishes dies and Stitched Snowflake dies

There is something so elegant with a white and silver card.

Here is how I made the card:

  1. Cut card base "tent" style.
  2. Cut layer at 4" x 5 1/4". Emboss with Wintry EF
    1. Adhere with dimensionals
  3. Cut a piece of cardstock at 3 1/4" x 6". Emboss with Wintry EF
    1. Use Rectangular Postage Stamp punch and punch out 4
    2. Adhere with dimensionals
  4. Die cut 2 of the snowflakes from Stitched Snowflake dies. Repurpose the tiny pieces that come from the center of the smaller snowflake by adding them as shown in the picture - 3 in the upper left and 3 in the lower right punched rectangles.

    1.  Start with the bigger of the 2 snowflakes. Adhere 1 Wonderful Snowflake on top with a glue dot.
    2. Then adhere the smaller snowflake on top of the other 2
    3. Adhere the snowflakes to the middle of the 4 rectangle postage stamp with 2 stacked mini dimensionals.
  5. Tie a double loop bow and adhere to the center of the snowflakes.
  6. Die cut "Merry" and "Christmas" using the Word Wishes dies and the Be Dazzling paper.
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you have found inspiration  with my creation!

Happy stamping

Stamping With Friends Delicate Baubles

Welcome to For the Love of Stamping and the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop! This month the theme is "Blogger's Choice"!  We can showcase anything we want from any of the current Stampin' Up!® catalogs. My choice is from the July - Dec mini catalog - Delicate Bauble dies.

Delicate Baubles
I chose this die set to be able to feature the "Paper Piecing" technique.  This die set is PERFECT for it!

I have started with a card base in Evening Evergreen and added a layer of Misty Moonlight. I then added another layer using the Tidings of Christmas DSP.  This particular sheet from the DSP pack is my favorite!

To create the center focal point you need Night of Navy cardstock (base bauble) and Misty Moonlight for the decorative outline.  I adhere the Misty Moonlight outline to the Night of Navy base with Tombow. This was adhered to the cardbase with dimensionals.

I cut a 2nd layer of the outline in Evening Evergreen for the tree and used a piece of Press n' Seal to grab the pieces from the cut out. This allows me to keep the pieces in right place and all I had to do was add some Tombow to the back and press them into place!

I then added some clear Wink of Stella to the green inserts and the Blue Backed Adhesive gems to each of the snowflakes (or are they stars?  Not sure - lol) for some sparkle.
I hope you enjoyed my post today! Be sure to continue your blog hop journey onto  see what Libby has created!

Crafty Collaborations Music Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to For The Love of Stamping. Today I am participating in a Music Themed blog hop. My card was inspired by an idea I saw online by Susan Opel. I created this Xylophone using a number of products from both the current catalogs.

First off, a little education on the Xylophone.
Xylophone comes from the Greek words xylon and phonē, meaning “wood” and “sound”.
It is a percussion instrument consisting of a set of graduated, tuned wooden bars supported at nodal (nonvibrating) points and struck with sticks or padded mallets.

See you learn something new everyday! LOL

To start I created a base from Soft Suede cardstock and then layered a piece of Early Espresso cardstock on top.

Next I took a layer of White cardstock and embossed a background using the new Merry Melody 3D embossing folder from the July - Dec mini.
I blended some Soft Suede ink using a blending brush over the surface of the embossing making the musical notes pop!

Next I cut strips of In Good Taste DSP. The base of the xylophone are 2 strips 3/8"" x 4" and then 1 at 3/8" x 1- 1/2" and the other 3/8"  x 2-3/4".

I then cut 6 strips of the In Good Taste DSP and rounded the ends of each. Each are 3/8" wide. The smallest one at the top is 1 3/8" long and the longest one is 2 1/2" long. Each one was adhered with dimensionals onto the xylophone base and completed with Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots.
To make the mallet, I used a wooden matchstick and adhered a tiny pompom to the end with a glue dot. Finally, to complete the card I have tied a tiny gold bow with Gold Shimmer ribbon and stamped the sentiment (Delightful Dahlias - SAB stamp set) in white craft ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. The ends were punched with the Banner Pick a Punch and popped it up on dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed today's Music themed post!. Be sure to continue your journey by checking out the other beautiful creations!
Happy stamping.

Christmas Pinecones & Painted Christmas DSP

Hello and welcome to For The Love of Stamping. Today's post uses new products from the Holiday mini catalog.

The beautiful DSP is called Painted Christmas. This is just one of the gorgeous sheets. I cut and layered each onto Evening Evergreen cardstock

The pinecones were die cut from Christmas Pinecone dies and layered onto and die from the same die set. It is a large background die that I used a small section of.

I couldn't resist using the SAB DSP - Be Dazzling to make the snowflake that I tucked in behind the pinecone layers. The sentiment was embossed on Evening Evergreen in white, fussy cut & adhered with dimensionals. I added a double bow (Evening Evergreen Open Weave ribbon) to the pinecones to finish off the card.

Happy stamping!

Crafty Collaborations - Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to For the Love of Stamping. Today I am participating in the Crafty Collaboration SaleABration blog hop! I love the SaleABration promotion!  It is also nice to get FREE products! Don't you agree?

Be Dazzling
For this hop I am showing you the Paper Piecing technique using the new Be Dazzling 6 x 6 paper from the SAB catalog. I love the chunky, glittery, sparkly bits on this paper.  I reminds me of a disco ball.

I started with a base layer of Basic White and then added a layer of Evening Evergreen.

On top of the Evergreen is a layer of Basic White that I ran through my die cutting machine 3 times with one of the dies from the Merry Snowflake bundle to create the background texture.

To create the focal point of the card I used the Delicate Baubles dies.  First I ran the die through with the Be Dazzling paper and then again using Soft Succulent paper to fill in the tree (paper piecing technique).

You can never have too much "bling" so I then added 3 of the blue adhesive backed gems to the snowflakes and a 2021-2023 In Color rhinestone to the tree star.

Behind the die cut is a layer of Evening Evergreen. This is another one of the dies from the Delicate Bauble dies.  I used the same technique to create the textured background as I did on the Basic White layer.

I added some more "bling" by punching out some stars from the Be Dazzling paper and then added the sentiment to the bottoms.

Thank you for stopping by today. Be sure to check out the other posts for more SAB ideas!

Tracie
