This month's blog hop theme is Christmas!
This technique is called Off The Edge Stamping.
To make this card you will need
Stamps: Holly Jolly
Paper: Whisper White, Black Foil & Shaded Spruce
Ink: Memento
Misc: Die Cut Machine, Tombow Mono Glue, Stampin' Blends, Snowfall Accents Puff Paint & Jolly Season Dies.
To make this card, start with an 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of white card. Draw a faint pencil line down the center of the card base (at 4 1/4").
Then stamp, color and die cut the Santa image. Place the Santa image onto your card base so that it evenly straddles the pencil mark. Place the die cut over top of the image and use washi tape to hold it in place.
Place it on to a cutting pad and onto your die cut machine so that the image is facing upside down. Take the top cutting plate and lay it on top of the die cut aligning the edge of the cutting plate along the center pencil line and the cutting plate extends to the left (in other words the top cutting plate will be partially through the die cut machine). Run through the machine - you will have a partially cut image. Remove the die and fold the card base back (the pencil line should be showing). Trim away the excess card stock that is protruding from the folded edge - don't cut the fold.
Add some Snowfall Accent Puff Paint to the brim and pompom on the hat, to the cuffs of the coat and the cuffs of Santa's pants - heat set with an embossing gun. Adhere Santa in the hole cut with the die cut machine using Tombow Mono glue. Finish the card with a punched Christmas tree and presents. Run a piece of black foil through the die cut machine and adhere to the top of the card.
The last step is to cut the card base so that it fits into an envelop. Place the card into your trimmer so that the edge of the bag that Santa is holding is aligned at 4 1/4". Cut with the paper trimmer.
I hope the technique that I have shared with you inspires you to try this technique.
