4 In 1 Leaves of Holly Christmas Cards

Hello crafty stampers! Today is Nov. 16, 2022 and I am sharing with you a fun and easy way to make 4 cards at once featuring the Leaves of Holly stamp set from the July to Dec mini catalogue.

As Christmas approaches, the pressure to create and send Christmas cards intensifies. So let me show you how I created the 4 gorgeous Christmas cards at one time.

Start with a piece of White cardstock cut to 10 1/2" x 8".
Create a guide by drawing a faint line vertically at 4" from top to bottom and horizontally at 5 1/4". Start with the largest holly outline stamp and randomly stamp across the lines in Evening Evergreen. Next fill in with the solid large leaf with Soft Succulent. Add some smaller leaves - outline stamp in Evening Evergreen and fill with Soft Succulent.
Next, randomly stamp the holly berries in Real Red. Then use the
outline stamp to add dimension to the berries with Cherry Cobbler ink.  Using the Merriest Moments stamp set, fill in the "white" spaces with the largest fern stamp and the speckles using Soft Succulent ink.  You may find that after you cut this into 4 pieces that you need a bit more of the white space filled in. I suggest you resist the urge to add more before cutting the pieces. Remember you still need to add the sentiment.

You are now ready to cut this into 4 pieces. Line up in your paper trimmer vertically and cut down the center at 4". Next line up each half horizontally in your paper trimmer and cut at 5 1/4". This will give you the 4 top layers for your cards. Depending on how much stamping of the leaves and berries that you did, you will want to play with how you to layer onto a card by rotating the layers until you get the right look. Each time you rotate the layer you get a different perspective. Decide on what make you the happiest. It is at this stage you may wish to add some more ferns, berries and or speckles to the layers.

The final step is to assemble the cards together. Start by cutting a mat to go behind your stamped layers. I cut two Cherry Cobbler at 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" and 2 Evening Evergreen at the same size and adhered them together. Stamp the sentiment (Brightest Glow) in Versamark and heat emboss with gold embossing powder. Repeat 3 more times and then die cut each with the frame die from Potted Succulents. Create dimension for each sentiment by die cutting 8 more white frame  - layering 2 under each sentiment. This will add stability to the sentiment layer and lessen the chance of damage when mailing your card.
I hope you enjoy the process of making these cards! I would love to hear how you made out.
Happy stamping!
Hugs, Tracie
